One of our volunteers caught this gull and took him to the vet because he had fishing line coming out of his beak. An x-ray showed that he had swallowed the hook, which was lodged close to his heart. The vet tried to remove it but he died under the anaesthetic.
This gull became tangled in netting and was dangling upside down on a rooftop. The Fire Department very kindly sent out a team to bring him down, we kept him overnight to make sure he had recovered from his ordeal and released him the next day.
